Interesting places:

Berezan' Island
Island is located in the Black Sea at the Dnieper-Boh Estuary, 850 m in length, 200 – 850 m in width. This was the site of the oldest Greek (Ionian) colony in southern Ukraine, founded in the second half of the 7th century BC. Called Borysthen or Borysthenida, it existed until Roman times. During the period of Kyivan Rus’ there was a Slavic settlement at Berezan Island. The Zoporozhian Cossacks used it as a fortress during their campaigns against Turkish settlements.
Saint Anthony of the Caves
It is a complex of underground cult architecture of the XI – XVIII centuries. Anthony Pechersky (the founder of Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra) founded the caves in 1069. The only ground building is Illinskaya chuch. All the other churches and galleries are located under the ground. With the time the complex expanded — underground passages and churches remained till today and are extremely popular among visitors. The whole length of the corridors is 350 m. The depth of the caves varies from 2 till 12 m. Narrow corridors, little monks` rooms, bones of monks who were murdered during Mongol-Tatar invasion in 1239… No wonder that the place is very interesting to visit. It is believed that the ghost appear here from time to time.
Present from Ukraine: Pysanka
The art of the decorated egg in Ukraine, or the pysanka, dates back to ancient times. As in many ancient cultures, Ukrainians worshipped a sun god (Dazhboh). The sun was important - it warmed the earth and thus was a source of all life. Eggs decorated with nature symbols became an integral part of spring rituals, serving as benevolent talismans.
